Donetsk, Aug 30 - DAN. Donetsk Philharmonic Society artists have prepared a large programme this season involving visiting performers from foreign countries, Philharmonia art director Alexander Paretskiy said at a press conference at the Donetsk News Agency on Thursday.

“In the first half of the 87th concert season of the Donetsk Philharmonic Society we plan 15 concert programmes involving Russian artists. They are outstanding academic music representatives; we’re proud of their choosing our Philharmonia,” Paretskiy said.

Artists from Moscow, St Petersburg, Yekaterinburg, Astrakhan, Yaroslavl and other Russian cities will perform in the DPR by the end of the year, he added.

The Sergei Prokofiev Academic Symphonic Orchestra marks its 85th anniversar this year.

“An large concert programme is planned. It will be launched on October 1 with the action Music Over Donbass. The orchestra will perform on the rooftop of a high-rise building in Donetsk. The concert makring the orchestra’s jubilee will take place on October 18 at Donbass Opera. Russian and Argentinian musicians wll take part in it,” Paretskiy said.

The Donetsk Philharmonic Society’s new season will open on September 1.  The Sergei Prokofiev Academic Symphonic Orchestra and British pianist Peter Seivewright will perform pieces of top American and Soviet composers.*jk
