Donetsk, Aug 17 - DAN. Ukrainian forces’ statement alleging DPR strikes at Zaitsevo village during humanitarian aid distribution are not true, DPR Operations Command said on Thursday.

“Kiev-controlled media spread new misinformation citing Ukrainian army 128th mountain infantry brigade press service,” DPR Operations Command deputy commander Eduard Basurin said. “They alleged that DPR armed forces shelled Zaitsevo village as International Committee of the Red Cross representatives were handing out relief supplies.”

“It’s another lie to discredit DPR armed forces,” he said adding that Joint Centre for Control and Coordination observers had not recorded ceasefire violations in the designated area.

An international mission representative told Donetsk News Agency that Zaitsevo had not come under fire during humanitarian aid distribution. “We were there, we didn’t observe any shelling and were very surprised by those statements,” he said.

According to Basurin, relief supplies were distributed among Zaitsevo residents in the presence of JCCC Russian representatives.

Meanwhile, DPR Operations Command said Ukrainian forces shelled Golmovskiy neighbourhood in northern Gorlovka at around 2:00 p.m. The fire was delivered from 128th separate mountain infantry brigade positions. No casualties were reported.

Earlier on Thursday, the press service of Ukrainian army’s 128th separate mountain infantry brigade alleged that DPR units had fired on Zaitsevo village where Red Cross representatives were distributing humanitarian aid.*jk
