Donetsk, Nov 14 — DAN. The Supreme Court of the Donetsk People’s Republic has handed down prison sentences to three “Azov” nationalistic formation gunmen for shelling Mariupol in 2022, Russia’s Investigative Committee (SK) reported on Tuesday.

“Gennady Kharchenko ordered his subordinates Alexey Zhernovsky and Igor Kim to fire a 120mm mortar at civil infrastructure facilities on March 13-20, 2022. A civilian was wounded and several infrastructure facilities were damaged in the attack, ” the SK said. “The gunmen organized their fire position near a Mariupol college.”

Kharchenko was sentenced to 25 years in prison and Zhernovsky and Kim got 24-year jail terms each in a maximum security penitentiary.*jk
