Donetsk, Sep 9 - DAN. The Donetsk People’s Republic Prosecutor General’s Office initiated criminal proceedings against Ukrainian army 58th Brigade commander Dmitry Kaschenko over his involvement in the wounding of two civilians in northern Donetsk, PGO sources said on Thursday.
On Wednesday evening, Ukrainian forces shelled Donetsk's Kievskiy district. A 50-year-old woman suffered shrapnel wounds to the shoulder and small pelvis area and a 40-year-old man suffered a closed craniocerebral injury, soft tissue wounds to the head, shrapnel wounds to the leg, and wound shock.
“The PGO is investigating a criminal case against 58th Separate Motorized Infantry Brigade commander Dmitry Kaschenko and his subordinates over their committing acts of terror in the DPR territory,” a prosecutor said.
The case was opened under DPR Criminal Code article 229, Part 2. It envisions a penalty of ten to 20 years in prison with restriction of freedom for a period of one to two years.*jk
