Donetsk, May 23 — DAN. The Supreme Court of the Donetsk People’s Republic has sentenced a member of the Ukrainian nationalistic group “Azov” (banned in the Russian Federation) to life imprisonment for shooting and killing a Russian prisoner-of-war in April 2022, Russia’s Investigative Committee (SK) reported on Tuesday.

“The DPR Supreme Court has sentenced Alexey Kyrkalov on the strength of the evidence gathered by SK bodies, ” the report said.

Kyrkalov (call sign Fritz) used his handgun to shoot dead a Russian serviceman who had been kept blindfolded and handcuffed in a cellar. The nationalist was found guilty of the use of banned methods of warfare and murder, and will serve his the sentence in a maximum security prison.*jk
