Donetsk, Jul 12 — DAN. The case against a Kiev army  drone operator who opened fire at civilians in Mariupol in the spring of 2022 to shoot a fake video has been sent to the Donetsk People’s Republic Supreme Court, the press service of the Russian Prosecutor General’s Office said on Wednesday.

“DPR prosecutors have indicted Sergey Pyurko, 54, robot reconnaissance unit commander of the ‘Azov’ formation (the organization is banned in the territory of the Russian Federation  — eds Donetsk News Agency), ” the PGO said. 

Investigators said that on March 5, 2022, the defendant was ordered to shoot a video that was meant to enhance Ukrainian army prestige. Following his orders, Pyurko fired a grenade launcher at the apartment building at 104 Prospect Mira Street. On the video taken by his colleagues, Pyurko says that he is delivering fire at Russian servicemen. On March 12-14, he fired a grenade launcher at the apartment house at 107 Prospect Mira Street where a married couple with their child were staying at the moment.

The Ukrainian serviceman is accused of attempted hate murder, malicious damage to property and war crime.*jk
