Donetsk, Oct 23 — DAN. Donetsk People’s Republic prosecutors have sent to court a case against an “Azov” battalion serviceman suspected of killing five civilians in Mariupol in the spring of 2022, the DPR Territorial Defense HQ reported on Monday.

“”The DPR prosecutor’s office has endorsed the indictment against assistant machine gunner Artur Niverchuka, 22, who was charged with hate murder and cruel treatment of civilians in the occupied territory, ” the report said.

Investigators said that the suspect, together with a colleague, fired their assault rifles at a car carrying a family of three including a child. The tragedy occurred in Mira Avenue; all the victims died on the spot.  In April, Niverchuk fired an underbarrle grenade launcher at an apartment house in Zelinsky Street killing two men.

The case was referred to the DPR Supreme Court for consideration on the merits.*jk
