Donetsk, Nov 22 — DAN. Training sessions will resume for basketball and football players at Mariupol’s renovated Ilyichevets sport center later this year, the city’s Acting Mayor Oleg Morgun said on his Telegram channel on Wednesday.
Some 500 sport club members are expected to resume training at the city’s largest sport facility this year, Morgun said.
Ilyichevets had been Ukraine’s largest covered stadium before the beginning of 2022. It accommodates a football pitch, wrestling, boxing, volleyball, basketball and tennis halls, a fitness center and a press office. The facility was badly damaged during hostilities. Authorities plan to fully repair it within the next two years. *jk
