Donetsk, Jun 8 — DAN. Repairs of the war-ravaged “Ilyichevets” sport center in Mariupol will be completed by September 1, Donetsk People’s Republic Acting Construction and Utilities Minister Andrey Nagaitsev said on Thursday.
“The work is running according to schedule; we’ll try to finish it by September 1, so that guys can attend sports classes, ” the Ministry press service quoted Nagaitsev as saying.
Specialists have already repaired the walls, roof and ventilation system and replaced window units. The rebuilding project involves some 60 workers, he said.
“Ilyichevts” had been Ukraine’s largest covered stadium before the beginning of 2022. It accommodates a football pitch, wrestling, boxing, volleyball, basketball and tennis halls, a fitness center and press office.*jk
