Donetsk, Aug 21 – DAN. Yoga teachers from Kiev-controlled Donbass have held a free lesson for the DPR residents in Donetsk.

The class was organized by the Donetsk Republic (DR) social movement together with the Ministry of Youth, Sport and Tourism.

The lesson has been attended by a dozen of people of various ages including the principal deputy head of the Central Executive Committee of the DR movement Andrey Kramar and deputy minister of sport Alexander Gromakov.

"Yoga technics have been elaborated for thousands of years. It produces positive effect on everyone, but in stressful situations it is even more efficient. Yoga makes people relax, brings comfort and joy despite stressful environments like wars or conflicts."

The class lasted for three hours, followed by a lecture on yoga benefits and psychology in the war-induced stress. 

Yoga teachers came from Donetsk, Kramatorsk and Slavyansk.

"Yoga is a unique system, you cannot understand it unless you try. It helps you understand yourself, to find your best qualities and share them," instructor from Slavyansk said.

"I wasn't really scared to go here. I was worried about the reception in Donetsk as I wanted very much to be helpful, to assist people in relieving stress, it was the reason behind coming here," instructor from Kramatorsk said.

Yoga is a system physical, mental and spiritual practices originated in ancient India aimed at discovering dysfunctional perception and cognition, as well as overcoming it for release from suffering, inner peace and salvation by means of spiritual and physical exercises developed as a part of Hinduism and Buddhism. *ot
