Donetsk, Mar 20 - DAN. The United Donbass Foundation has paid nearly 60 million rubles worth of financial assistance to the needy in the region since last spring, Foundation chairman Oleg Balykin told the Donetsk News Agency on Tuesday.
“The public organisation’s Commission has reviewed 6,063 requests for financial aid since the start of it operation, of those, 2,403 requests to the tune of 76,459,440 rubles have been approved. As of March 19, a total of 59,136,740 rubles had been paid to 1,939 applicants,” Balykin said.
The Foundation’s Commission has held five sessions in 2018 to review requests for aid from residents in difficult situations. Over this period, it has reviewed 1,746 application of which 904 have been approved.
The Donetsk People’s Republic launched the Foundation on March 9 2017 as part of the Donbass people reunification programme. The programme envisions cash payments and provision of food and medications which can also be contributed by Donetsk People’s Republic residents. *jk
