Donetsk, Jun 27 - DAN. The United Donbass Foundation social organisation paid nearly 38 million rubles worth of financial assistance to young people in the region over two years, Foundation chairman Oleg Balykin said on Thursday as the Donetsk People Republic marked Youth Day.

“The Foundation has allocated 37,994,340 rublels to Donbass residents aged 18 to 35 since it was launched two years ago,” Balykin said.

Benefits were paid to 1,060 young people, the organisation added.

Earlier reports said that “United Donbass” had provided financial aid to nearly 9,000 residents of the Donetsk region over the designated period.

The Donetsk People’s Republic set up the United Donbass Foundation in March 2017 as part of the Donbass people reunification humanitarian programme. Its objective is to help the needy both in the DPR and Kiev-held areas of the Donetsk region.*jk
