Donetsk, Jul 9 - DAN. The United Donbass Foundation has paid 320 million rubles worth of financial assistance to the needy in the Donetsk People’s Republic and Kiev-held areas of the Donetsk region since the spring of 2017, Foundation chairman Oleg Balykin said at a press briefing at the Donetsk News Agency on Tuesday.
“As of July 6, 2019, the Foundation had paid 9,120 applicants a total of 322,125,840 rubles,” Balykin said.
Over the designated period, it approved payments to 9,862 needy residents, he added.
The United Donbass Foundation Commission last met on July 4. It reviewed 433 applications. Of those, 124 were approved to the tune of more than 3.3 million rubles.
The Donetsk People’s Republic set up the United Donbass Foundation in March 2017 as part of the Donbass people reunification humanitarian programme. The objective is to help people in a difficult situation. The Foundation provides assistance to residents of the DRP and Kiev-held areas of the Donetsk region.*jk
