Donetsk, Nov 27 - DAN. The United Donbass Foundation has paid some 210 million rubles worth of financial assistance to people in need in the region since the start of this year, Foundation chairman Oleg Balykin said at a press briefing at the Donetsk News Agency on Tuesday.
“The Commission has met 22 times in 2018. It has reviewed 14,380 requests for aid; of those 5,572 were approved to the tune of 211,179,100 rubles,” Balykin said.
“The Foundation’s Commission has reviewed 18,666 applications for financial aid since the spring of 2017; 7,071 requests to the tune of 254,920,840 rubles have been approved,” he added.
“As of November 24, 2018, a total of 239,913,840 rubles had been paid to 6,663 recipients,” the Foundation chairman said.
“The Commission held its 22nd meeting on November 23, 2018 to review 941 applications from citizens in difficult circumstances; it approved 218 requests for help worth a total of 7,722,000 rubles,” Balykin said. Another 723 requests were turned down as the Commission could not verify the applicants’ situation.
The Donetsk People’s Republic set up the United Donbass Foundation in March 2017 as part of the Donbass people reunification humanitarian programme. Its objective is to help the needy living in the Republic and Kiev-held areas of the Donetsk region.*jk
