Donetsk, Jul 6 - DAN. The committee of the United Donbass Foundation has approved one-time allocations of financial aid to 53 residents of DPR and Kiev-held part of Donetsk Region worth 1.5 million roubles in total, since the start of its operation, the Foundation chairman Oleg Balykin told a news briefing at Donetsk News Agency on Thursday.

“The committee approved 1,586,950 roubles worth of benefits in 53 cases with the average payment amounting to 29,942 roubles,” Balykin said.

At the latest meeting, the Foundation’s committee reviewed 590 applications from residents of DPR and Kiev-held part of Donetsk Region who found themselves in a difficult situation. Benefits were approved in 29 cases, with the sum of payments amounting to 720,000 roubles, or 24,827 roubles per applicant, on the average.

As of 6 July, ten payments have been made of 340,000 roubles in total, including five payments in DPR worth 115,000 roubles and five payments to Kiev-held part of Donetsk Region residents totaling 225,000 roubles, the Foundation chairman said.

DPR launched United Donbass Foundation on 9 March 2017 as part of the programme for Donbass people reunification and assistance to compatriots approved by DPR and LPR heads Alexander Zakharchenko and Igor Plotnitskiy on 17 February 2017.

The programme envisions cash payments and provision of food and medications which can also be contributed by DPR residents. Nine groups are eligible for assistance, including persons in the 1st and 2nd disability categories, single parent families with children up to 18 years of age, families with three or more children up to 18 years of age, citizens aged over 65 and some other groups. *jk
