Donetsk, Jul 31 – DAN.Artillery strikes by Ukrainian forces damaged an electrical substation in Elenovka causing power outages at three settlements in the Donetsk People’s Republic, the DPR Coal and Energy Ministry press service said on Tuesday.

"According to the Ministry's duty officer, a direct hit by a round fired from Kiev forces’ positions damaged a 110kW oil circuit breaker at the Elenovka substation,” the press service said. “The loss of power occurred at nine substations of the Dokuchayevsk power grid, the Yasinovataya stretch of the railway and the villages of Signalnoye, Luganskoye and parts of Elenovka.”

At present, DPR repair teams are examining the substation equipment. Power to the above settlements will be restored shortly.

Ukrainian forces violated the ceasefire 11 times over the past 24 hours, firing more than 81 rounds at DPR frontline areas, according to the Joint Centre for Control and Coordination.*jk
