Donetsk, Feb 14 - DAN. Ukrainian army units shelled the Krutaya Balka township outside Yasinovataya with mortars, the Donetsk People’s Republic Office at the Joint Centre for Control and Coordination reported on Thursday.
“A strike by Ukrainian armed formations on the Kamenka-Krutaya Balka axis was recorded at 13:40,” the JCCC said. “Sixteen 82mm mortar rounds were fired.”
Krutaya Balka is located one kilometre from Yasinovataya. The settlement comes under Ukrainian forces fire nearly every day. The local vital infrastructure facilities include the Donetsk Water Treatment Plant and the Vasilyevka pumping station of the Yuzhnodonbasskiy water duct which supplies water to hundreds of thousands customers on both sides of the contact line.
On February 8, Ukrainian forces shelled Krutaya Balka. A Voda Donbassa company vehicle carrying water pumping station personnel came under fire. No casualties were reported. The personnel was evacuated after the DPR office at the JCCC requested additional security guarantees.*jk
