Donetsk, Jan 24 - DAN. Ukrainian army units on Thursday morning shelled the pumping station area outside Yasinovataya during shift change; no casualties were reported, head of the Donetsk People’s Republic Office at the Joint Centre for Control and Coordination Ruslan Yakubov told the Donetsk News Agency.
“Ukrainian armed formations fired 50 anti-aircraft gun rounds towards the Vasilyevka pumping station in violation of the security guarantees provided earlier,” Yakubov said. “At that time, the car carrying the shift workers, was stuck in the snow.”
To evacuate the workers from the fire zone, the DPR asked Ukraine to silence the guns. The situation in the Yuzhnodonbasskiy water duct Vasilyevka pumping station area has stabilised by now.
Tensions have been running high on the frontline in the proximity to Yasinovataya recently. On Wednesday afternoon, a Ukrainian strike damaged the pumping station’s entrance office, chlorinator facility and battery room. On January 17, two civilian cars were damaged as Ukrainian forces opened fire at the facility. A week before, three Voda Donbassa water supply company were wounded in shelling.*jk
