Donetsk, May 8 - DAN. Ukrainian forces fired more nearly 560 rounds of ammunition at Donetsk People’s Republic frontline areas over the past 24 hours, head of the DPR Mission to the Joint Centre for Control and Coordination (JCCC) Ruslan Yakubov said on Tuesday.
“Overall, Ukrainian army units expended 559 rounds of ammunition,” Yakubov said.
Massive fire from Ukrainian positions was delivered at Gorlovka, including the Zaitsevo and Dolomitnoye villages and the Gagarin Colliery area. Ten houses were damaged, according to updated JCCC reports.
Yasinovataya outskirts and the southern village of Kominternovo came under fire as well.
Overall, 13 ceasefire violations by Ukrainian forces were recorded over the designated period.
The “Easter ceasefire” proposed by DPR Head Alexander Zakharchenko came into effect in Donbass on March 30. The lull on the frontline did not last long: nine and a half hours later, the first violations of the truce by Kiev forces were recorded. *jk
