Donetsk, Oct 26 - DAN. A gas pipe on the premises of the Zasyadko colliery in the Donetsk People’s Republic was damaged in shelling by Ukrainian forces on Tuesday morning, the DPR Coal and Energy Ministry press service reported.

“The personnel heard shell explosions at 07:05,” the report said. “Luckily, no projectiles hit the industrial site though the outgoing degassing pipe sustained serious damage and pressure fell at the Zasyadko cogeneration gas plant.”

The incident did not affect company operation. Repairs are underway, the press service said.

The Donetsk People’s Republic Office at the Joint Centre for Control and Coordination said that the strike had been delivered from Avdeyevka. Twelve 120mm  mortar rounds were fired in the direction of Yakovlevka.

It is the fourth strike at the Zasyadko coal mine over the past two months. Ukrainian forces last shelled it on September 30.

The Zasyadko colliery, one of the largest in the region was commissioned in 1958. It is located in Donetsk’s frontline Kievsky district. *jk
