Donetsk, Jan 24 – DAN. Ukrainian army units opened fire at Elenovka and Luganskoye villages west of Donetsk on Monday night, as a result some 900 homes were left without electricity, local administration heads told Donetsk News Agency.
“Shelling occurred from 11:00 p.m. till 03:00 a.m. Some 350 homes were cut off from power supply. A residential house in 111 Lesnaya Street was damaged,” Elenovka administration head Igor Syakerin told DAN.
The situation was similar in Luganskoye village southwest of Donetsk where 563 homes were left without electricity. “Buildings were not damaged but transmission lines were cut in overnight shelling. Repairs are ongoing,” Donetsk’s Petrovskiy district administration head Maksim Zhukovskiy said.
Gorlovka administration head Ivan Prikhodko said Kiev forces shelled Zaitsevo village on Monday afternoon damaging two residential houses in Poletayev Street.
A report on Tuesday morning said Kiev forces have fired 283 mortar and artillery rounds at northern and western outskirts of Donetsk, Yasinovataya and DPR south since Monday evening. *jk
