Donetsk, Mar 15 - DAN. Ukrainian armed formations fired more than 130 rounds of ammunition at the Donetsk People’s Republic from 3:00 to 17:00 on Tuesday causing new casualties and damage to social infrastructure facilities, according to a consolidated report.

The morning in the Republic began with mortar strikes by Ukrainian gunmen. Starting at 8:10 and within an hour, the impact area included Gorlovka suburbs and Donetsk outskirts, and then these areas came under 122mm artillery fire. Strikes were delivered at Yelenovka south of the DPR capital and Yasinovataya. In the afternoon, Ukrainian armed formation also used multiple rocket launchers to shell ten DPR settlements. The enemy expended 132 rounds of ammunition.

One woman was killed and one was wounded as Yasinovataya came under fire. The strike damaged a pumping station and several water duct facilities, a fire-fighting centre, a bus terminal, residential buildings, shops and gas pipes. On top of that, damage was recorded in the Verkhnetoretskoye settlement south of Gorlovka.

A fan stopped due to power failure at the Skochinsky colliery in Donetsk. Some miners were evacuated to the surface, but the rest worked on.  The strikes left over 6,000 customers in Donetsk and Yasinovataya without electricity; power supply has been partially restored by now. In Donetsk, damage was caused to buildings at several locations including the Orthodox temple in Alexandrovka (in the southwest of the city). The authorities again arranged water delivery to four city districts as strikes disrupted water supply lines.

Senior officials and people brought flowers to site of people’s death from falling fragments of the Ukrainian Tochka-U missile.

The liberation operation continues on the south and western axes; fighting is ongoing for Mariupol, Avdeyevka and Maryinka. Four civilians wounded in Ukrainian gunmen fire were taken to the Dokuchayevsk hospital, according to a Tuesday report by the DPR Office at the Joint Centre for Control and Coordination. While the DPR is evacuating the population from the fighting zone (78 Mariupol residents were brought to the Republic over the past 24 hours), the Kiev regime continues to take civilians hostage.

Meanwhile, peaceful life is restarting in liberated areas. The Ministry of Social Policy has registered more than 1,000 residents who are entitled to almost 7.7 million rubles worth of pensions and 600,000 rubles of welfare benefits.  Vaccination against COVID-19 is due to begin in these areas shortly, the DPR Healthcare Ministry said. In Volnovakha where 85 percent of housing stock was destroyed in the fighting, Republican police have begun to maintain law and order.
