Donetsk, Jun 2 — DAN. Ukrainian gunmen have fired some 279 rounds of ammunition at the Donetsk People’s Republic territory on Thursday causing civilian casualties.

Military situation

Ukrainian armed formations resumed strikes at the DPR at around 7:00. The Golmovsky settlement in northern Gorlovka was the first to come under fire. Next, strikes were delivered at the outskirts of Makeyevka, Yasinovataya, Yenakiyevo and Donetsk’s Petrovsky district on the Donetsk axis and Panteleimonovka, Dolomitnoye, Mikhailovka, Zaitsevo and two Gorlovka districts on the Gorlovka axis.

The enemy used 155 mm, 152 mm and 122 mm artillery, «Grad» multiple rocket launchers, 120 mm and 82 mm mortars, tank guns and grenade launchers. As of the time of release of this news item, the enemy had expended 279 rounds of ammunition.

Two civilians were wounded in strikes at Yenakiyevo; 14 electrical substations went offline leaving 2,084 customers without electricity in Zemlyanki and Yasinovka, as well as the Yasinovka Coke and Chemical Factory which sustained damage in shelling.

Damage was also caused to houses in Velyaminov Street in Donetsk’s Petrovsky district and in Krasnodarskya Street and Gornyakov Avenue in Yenakiyevo. In Gorlovka, a house and and a car were damaged in Altaiskaya Street in the Shakhta Lenina neighborhood.

Humanitarian situation

A humanitarian cargo massing over 35 tons  arrived in Dokuchayevsk from Russia’s Vladimir region on Thursday. It includes food kits, bottled water, personal hygiene products and children’s toys.

The humanitarian aid was collected by workers of the steel reinforcing plant in Gus-Khrustalny who were supported by regional and local authorities.

Food kits were distributed between Yasinovataya machine building plant personnel.

DPR Public Chamber member Natalia Kuryanskaya passed medications and dressing material to an infantry battalion on the frontline. This aid had been collected by Admiral Makarov State Maritime Academy graduates in the Leningrad region.

Three mobile medical units with equipment and a team of doctors from the Leningrad region arrived in Yenakiyevo. Four ambulances with modern equipment contributed by the Klimenko family charity foundation were delivered to Gorlovka.

New components for an asphalt concrete plant were delivered to the Republic from the Penza region.

Donetsk Republic social movement activists, supported by the Ruspomosch charity foundation have delivered sport equipment, personal hygiene products and other goods required for full-fledged operation of Mariupol’s children’s center.

The «Young Republic» headquarters began operation in Volnovakha on Thursday, while the Stary Krym settlement outside Mariupol launched a post office. DPR social services including a Pension Fund office began to operate in the liberated Svetlodarsk.

One hundred and fifty children of DPR Railways employees went on holiday to the Express Recreation Camp in the Lazarevsky district of Russia’s Krasnodar Territory.

Yakutia has taken the Kirovskoye settlement under patronage. A delegation of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) arrived in the town to plan the assistance.
