Donetsk, Sep 5 — DAN. Sponsor help to the new regions is similar to the rebuilding of the areas liberated from Nazi troops during the Great Patriotic War, President Vladimir Putin said at a meeting of the Pobeda Organizing Committee on Tuesday.
“Eighty years ago, towns in the rear started the sponsor movement for liberated areas and created funds to help people living there, and all this is consonant with the current situation, ” Putin said. “The special military operation is ongoing, but many regions, large Russian cities and companies are again taking facilities and even settlements in the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republic and the Zaporozhye and Kherson regions under patronage.”
Considerable resources are allocated for the construction of social facilities and roads; the whole country has launched humanitarian assistance, he added.
Last year, nearly all Russian regions joined the efforts to help rebuild the new territories.*jk
