Back wages and pensions worth over 100 million rubles have been paid to residents of the new regions thanks to the assistance of supervisory authorities, Russian Prosecutor General Igor Krasnov said as he answered senators’ questions at the Federation Council upper house of the Russian parliament on Wednesday.
“Thanks to prosecutors’ intervention, people have got their back pay and pensions worth several hundred million rubles, ” said Krasnov whose speech was livestreamed on the FC website.
Earlier, President Vladimir Putin said that the security service, law-enforcement bodies and prosecutors must do everything to protect people in the new regions.*jk
