Donetsk, Nov 17 — DAN. Officers of the Russian Interior Ministry Center for Combating Extremism for the Donetsk People’s Republic have solved 22 crimes since the beginning of the year preventing acts of sabotage and terror.

“The Center is currently focused on exposing and preventing the activity of groups or individuals who plot acts of terror and sabotage, ” the Ministry’s press service told the Donetsk News Agency adding that 22 such crimes had been solved in 2023.

Police have seized considerable amounts of firearms, ammunition and explosives. Most of these crimes are committed by citizens who are involved in sabotage through Internet messengers and social media. In this connection, the spreading of extremist content on the Internet is under close scrutiny of law-enforcement bodies, the Ministry said.

The Center has also drawn 23 protocols of administrative offenses (which included inciting of hate and violation of human dignity) since the beginning of 2023. *jk
