Donetsk, Oct 6 - DAN,. Donetsk People’s Republic police officers confiscated a sniper rifle, a rifle sight, an incomplete Kalashnikov assault rifle and 7.62mm rounds from a resident of the city's Kievsky district, the DPR Interior Ministry press service reported on Tuesday.
The confiscated items were sent to the Interior Ministry’s expert examination center. Illegal possession of weapons and ammunition is punishable by up to four years in prison and a maximum fine of 80,000 rubles. Criminal proceedings against the owner were instituted under Article 256 of the DPR Criminal Code.
In a similar episode, police found eight rounds of fragmentation ammunition of the VOG type in the house of a local resident in the Amvrosiyevsky district. The man claimed he had kept them as a booty and that he had no intention to sell them. A pre-investigation check is underway. *jk
