Donetsk, May 20 – DAN. The number of casualties and damages doubled during Vladimir Zelensky's presidential term, said DPR representative at the Joint Centre for Control and Coordination (JCCC) Ruslan Yakubov.

"Statistics show that Zelensky's term, compared to the last year of Poroshenko's presidency, has seen a two-fold increase in casualties and inflicted damage."

Four civilians were killed, 55 injured, 97 infrastructural facilities damaged, 25 houses destroyed, 563 damaged during the last year of Poroshenko's presidency, while six were killed, 72 injured, 180 infrastructural facilities damaged, 49 houses destroyed, 973 damaged, 28 vehicles damaged during the first year of Zelensky's presidential term.

"We conclude that his electoral campaign highlight of ending the war has not been fulfilled," Yakubov said.

Zelensky was inaugurated on May 20, 2019 becoming Ukraine's sixth president. His electoral campaign focused on bringing peace to Donbass, nevertheless, the situation escalated as he came to power. *ot
