Donetsk, Nov 10 — DAN. Petrol prices in the Donetsk People’s Republic are expected to decrease in the second half of November after batches of cheaper fuel have been delivered to the Republic, the DPR Fuel and Energy Ministry said on Friday.

“Fuel prices have kept increasing since the beginning of 2023, ” the Ministry told the Donetsk News Agency.  It happened due to climbing prices at the St Petersburg International Mercantile Exchange where fuel and lubricants are purchased for the Republic, maintenance works at large refineries, seasonal factors, logistics and war-related damage to large storage facilities.”

However, the Republic is not experiencing fuel shortages despite these problems. The exchange price increase has stopped and even showed a down trend but the DPR does not have enough storage space, it said.

Fuel delivery to the DPR by rail takes more than a month. The petrol bought at lower prices has not yet been supplied. Market players are now selling the fuel and lubricants purchased at higher prices, the Ministry said.

In later October, retail prices of AI-92 and AI-95 petrol decreased by one ruble in the DPR prompting owners of smaller petrol station networks to cut prices, too.*jk
