Donetsk, May 12 — DAN. The efforts to rebuild and support the new territories involve nearly all regions of the country, Russia’s Deputy Minister of Construction and Utilities Valery Leonov said at a press conference at the TASS news agency on Friday.

“Today, it’s about nine state-run companies and 167 contractors from 84 regions, ” Leonov said during a livestream on the agency’s website.

These efforts include some 280 projects to restore utility lines and roads, supply special-purpose vehicles to settlements, support the education and healthcare systems, and launch investment projects to revive industry, agriculture and tourism, he said.

Some 40,000 specialists and 5,000 pieces of equipment are involved in the rebuilding projects in the new territories, according to the latest reports.

The work is part of the new regions’ development program which aims to raise their socio-economic level to Russia’s average.

Earlier reports said that in 2022, Russian sponsor regions supplied hundreds of specialized vehicles to Donetsk People’s Republic municipalities.*jk
