Donetsk, Jun 1 – DAN. The meeting of the humanitarian subgroup of the Contact Group has passed without any breakthroughs, said DPR Ombudswoman Daria Morozova.
"Five agenda issues have been discussed at the recent meeting in Minsk: signing of the Declaration against detainees tortures; the swap of all confirmed prisoners of war; search for missing persons; Stanitsa Luganskaya bridge construction, handover of detainees who wish to spend their term in Ukrainian penitentiaries."
Morozova said that in the majority of cases Ukraine's position did not allow achieving common ground. For instance, Kiev refused once again to sign the OSCE-proposed declaration against torture while its inaction concerning new exchange just brings the parties further away from a positive decision.
"I would like to note that half a year has passed since the latest swap and we have not moved any further as Ukraine always comes up with excuses."
Morozova said that the talks on handover to Kiev of pre-war convicts have also been frozen as a new Ukrainian ombudsman has not contacted the DPR despite there are all the means to do so. No progress has been reported on missing persons issue.
The latest meeting of the Contact Group took place on May 30 in Minsk.
