More than 60,000 people take part in Baptism Day celebrations in DPR

Donetsk, Jan 20 - DAN. More than 60,000 people visited Orthodox churches on the Baptism day, the Interior Ministry said on Wednesday.

"Ceremonies took place in 131 cathedrals in 55 townships across the DPR, gathering 60,000 people."

The order was ensured by 330 policemen, additional 150 officers were on duty at bathing locations.No public order violations have been recorded.

The Feast of the Baptism of the Lord, or Theophany, is the feast day commemorating the baptism of Jesus in the Jordan River by John the Baptist.
