Donetsk, Mar 14 — DAN. Ukraine is fighting against Donbass civilians, and our mission is to eliminate neo-fascism, said Donetsk People’s Republic Acting Head Denis Pushilin as he recalled the missile attack on central  Donetsk a year ago in which 22 people were killed.

“March 14, 2022 became a black page in our history. One year ago today the enemy acted with particular cynicism firing a Tochka-U missile with cluster warhead at the center of the Republic’s capital during the dinner rush, when there were many people in the street, ” Pushilin wrote on Telegram.

Universitetskaya Street, one of the busiest in the city, bore the brunt of the attack which claimed the lives of pensioners queuing at the bank and bus and car passengers.  The photos of grief-stricken people who lost their loved ones and scattered Ukrainian banknotes circled the globe.

“Ukraine is fighting against Donbass civilians, and we have a special mission to eliminate neo-fascism, to eradicate it forever, ” he said.
