Donetsk, Aug 14 — DAN. A survey for repairs of the Mariupol airport is planned for 2026, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin told reporters on Monday.

“We’re not planning to restore the airport in Mariupol in the next two years as we have the Taganrog airport 150 kilometers away; however, a survey is included in the three-year plan, ” TASS quoted Khusnullin as saying.

The airport building was badly damaged in fighting but the runway is in “a more or less decent condition”, he said.

After the special operation, the Donetsk airport would be repaired as well. “It sustained severe damage; we plan to rebuild it within the next five years, ” Khusnullin said.

Russian Transport Minister Vitaly Savelyev earlier announced plans to rebuild the Mariupol and Donetsk airports.*jk
