Donetsk, Jul 31 – DAN. Representatives of Ukraine at the Minsk talks have partially disclosed information on the Voda Donbassa financial situation during the meeting of the Contact Group today, said DPR Foreign Minister Natalia Nikonorova.

At the meeting on June 19, Kiev's side has promised to provide the abovementioned data on the enterprise that operates in Ukrainian jurisdiction for its comprehensive assessment.

"By today, Ukrainian side has provided the long-promised information on the Voda Donbassa financial situation. It should become a basis for further joint efforts to work out mechanisms of effective management," she said.

According to Nikonorova, the information provided was scarce and further details are needed in order experts start negotiating the issue.

The Voda Donbassa utility supplies water to customers in 289 settlements and offers waste water disposal to 79 towns and villages of the Donetsk region.

Energy suppliers began cutting off electricity to water facilities on May 23, leaving 16 townships without access to centralized water supply.

The situation deteriorated in March, when Voda Donbass debt to power suppliers reached critical 1 billion hryvnia. The power down of the Voda Donbassa company might result in an ecological disaster. In March the Ukrainian government decided to prolong open-ended contracts of Ukrenergo with Voda Donbassa until the water company finds another power supplier.

Water supply remains critically unstable. The problem has been negotiated by the Contact Group's economic subgroup. *ot
