Kiev forces shell Staromikhailovka, ICRC staff present in the area

Donetsk, Aug 17 – DAN. Kiev forces shelled Staromikhailovka west of Donetsk today while the ICRC personnel was present there, the DPR mission to the JCCC said.

"Today, the ICRC representatives came to Staromikhailovka to deliver humanitarian aid to civilian population. Both sides were informed on the ICRC activities and both sides provided security guarantees in written. As the ICRC was working, BMP-2 fire was opened from Ukrainian positions in Krasnogorovka."

The mission to the JCCC said two outhouses had been damaged in the town, building materials provided to locals by the ICRC destroyed.

"The ICRC representative had to take cover in a shelter. The shelling is ongoing; the DPR mission to the JCCC and negotiations is making everything possible to establish a ceasefire."
