Donetsk, Sep 19 — DAN. The Donetsk penitentiary has come under Ukrainian gunmen fire on Monday, the Donetsk People’s Republic Justice Ministry press service reported.
“Ukrainian armed formations launched an artillery attack at the Donetsk penitentiary again at around 9:20, ” the Ministry said.
Medical assistance was provided to an an inmate who had suffered a light wound. The prison staff are unharmed. Damage assessment is underway.
On Sunday, Ukrainian forces shelled the Yelenovka penitentiary where Ukrainian prisoners of war were kept, killing one and wounding another five. In July, Ukrainian armed formations delivered a missile strike at the Yelenovka prison killing some 50 Ukrainian POWs. *jk
