Donetsk, Feb 9 - DAN. The Donbass people reunification humanitarian programme which DPR launched in February 2017 has shown to the whole world the consolidation of residents living on different sides of the contact line, DPR Head Alexander Zakharchenko told a news conference on Friday.

“We’re one people, it’s our land. Slavyansk, Krasnoarmeisk, Dimitrov and Volnovakha are Donbass territory,” Zakharchenko said. “The war drew artificial dividing lines between us, but our mentality brings us together; thanks to the humanitarian programme we’ve shown to the whole world that we do not view the Contact Line as the border.”

“The people there are the same as us, they hate the enemy as much as we do,” he said.

DPR has been implementing the humanitarian programme since 17 February 2017. It provides for medical, financial and legal assistance, quotas for higher and vocational education for residents of Kiev-held areas, and their involvement, together with DPR population in sport and cultural events and measures to preserve spiritual and cultural values in the region. *jk
