Donetsk, Dec 9 — DAN. Ukrainian armed formations have shelled Gorlovka on Friday morning damaging Hospital No 1, town administration head Ivan Prikhodko said.

“Hospital No 1 neurology department was damaged by a Ukrainian artillery strike at Gorlovka’s Tsentralno-Gorodskoy district; damage assessment is ongoing, ” Prikhodko wrote on Telegram.

At least five houses were damaged in the residential area, he added. On December 6, Ukrainian artillery strikes caused a power outage at Gorlovka’s hospital No 3. Part of the ceiling of the pulmonology department collapsed as an enemy projectile punctured the roof.

The Joint Centre for Control and Coordination of issues related to Ukraine’s war crimes (JCCC) reported that the enemy used 155mm and 122mm artillery to deliver strikes at Gorlovka at 3:45 and 9:05. Prikhodko said that the town had come under Ukrainian forces fire more than 8,300 times since conflict escalation on February 24. The civilian casualty toll has amounted to 94 dead and 346 wounded since; 145 social infrastructure facilities have been damaged.

The town has been experiencing power- and heat supply problems because of the shelling.*jk
