Donetsk, Apr 26 — DAN. Donetsk People’s Republic authorities have paid compensations for the loss of home or property as a result of hostilities to 7,200 DPR residents this year, the press service of the Republic’s Labor and Social Policy Ministry told the Donetsk News Agency on Wednesday.
“In 2023, 7,200 injured parties received payments for the loss of or damage to their homes, as well as for the loss of essential property, ” a press service representative said.
Earlier reports said that more than 30,000 requests for such payments had been approved over the nine months since the DPR authorities announced plans in July 2022 to pay compensations. The money is paid in the amount of 35,000 rubles per square meter of living space, and can be used to buy or build new housing. The Republic’s authorities have also been providing new housing to people whose homes were ruined.
The DPR’s Budget 2023 earmarks 2.6 billion rubles for home/property loss payments to residents.*jk
