Donetsk, Feb 13 – DAN. School No. 116 in the Petrovskiy district of Donetsk has been overhauled and opened its doors again after Ukrainian army inflicted a heavy damage on it.

DAN correspondent who attended the opening event said that the Minister of Construction and Public Utilities Sergey Naumets and Donetsk mayor Alexey Kulemzin had arrived to inspect the classrooms, the canteen and the gym. "Thanks to the Republican authorities, all possible efforts were applied to repair the school. It has become even better," Naumets said. "Everything necessary is available."

The overhaul included replacement of the water and power supply systems, gas boiler replaced coal one. New canteen equipment has been purchased and installed.

The school was opened in 1939. It sustained multiple attacks during the Donbass war. In 2014, its roof, windows and communications were badly damaged. The overhaul began in 2015 but new shelling froze the works until 2018. *ot
