Donetsk, Apr 24 - DAN. The Donetsk People’s Republic plans to roll out its first tram in July, Donetsk Electrical Engineering Plant Director Vadim Tatsenko said during panel discussion of the Power of Donbass DPR development strategy on Tuesday.
“Production of trams was organised at a section of the non-core products shop. It’s in the pipeline; in July it will be put on the tramway,” Tatsenko said.
The Donetsk Electrical Engineering Plant launched the tram project in December 2017. It comprises several stages; the new equipment will integrate novel solutions which will cut power consumption by up to 40 percent.
Donetsk Electrical Engineering Plant was built in 1915. It specialises in the production of electric equipment and its overhaul. Products include start-up equipment, 4 kW to 315 kW explosion-proof induction motors and 630 kW, 1000 kW and 1250 kW electrical substations for DPR industries such as mining, mechanical engineering, coke manufacturing and transport.*jk
