Donetsk, Jul 23 - DAN. The overall indemnity paid to Donetsk People’s Republic residents who suffered workplace injuries has exceeded 784 million rubles since the beginning of this year, Occupational Accidents and Diseases Social Insurance Fund chairman Vladimir Arnov said at a press briefing at the Donetsk News Agency on Tuesday.
“In the first six months of 2019, the Fund’s payouts to persons hurt in occupational accidents or members of the fatalities’ families who re-registered at the Fund’s branches to draw indemnity, amounted to 784.2 million rubles,” Arnov said.
The Fund spent 773.9 million rubles to cover payments to occupational accident victims or members of their families, one-time benefits, funeral expenses, and paid sick leaves.
Arnov said that some 38,000 people in the DPR were paid about 130 million rubles in monthly compensations.
As of July 1, 2019, the Fund had more than 21,000 employers on file, of those 11,000 were legal entities and more than 10,000 were natural persons running business. “Some 380,000 people have taken out insurance,” he said.
The DPR set up the Occupational Accidents and Diseases Fund on December 9, 2014. Its full-fledged operation began in the summer of 2015 with indemnity payments.*jk*pp
