Donetsk, Aug 29 - DAN. Some 70 percent of housing have been restored in Ilovaisk, a DPR town worst hit by fighting, local administration deputy head for welfare Konstantin Ustimenko told Donetsk News Agency on Tuesday.
“Some 70 percent of damaged housing has been restored as well as nearly 100 percent of social infrastructure facilities. Thirty-three houses were built for tenants whose property had been fully destroyed,” Ustimenko said.
The restored facilities include 27 apartment houses; 286 houses were included in the government-funded restoration programme while repairs on some 150 houses were funded by the Intenrational Committee of the Red Cross.
Three schools and three kindergartens were rebuilt and repairs on town hospital and first-aid facility are underway. A railway company helped carry out repairs on the Lokomotiv sport complex and railway workers’ Palace of Culture.
“People keep arriving in town every day; all places in the three kindergartens are filled. We now have open vacancies at the railway company which resumed operation after it went into receivership,” the deputy administration head said.
Ilovaisk is one of the DPR towns worst hit by fighting. Ukrainian forces attacked it in the summer of 2014.

The town was liberated on 29 August 2014. Relative to the contact line, Ilovaisk is now located in the rear. Local authorities are continuing to rebuild its infrastructure.*jk
