Donetsk, Jan 11 – DAN. Ukrainian forces violated the Christmas ceasefire announced on December 29, 2018 37 times in the past week, said DPR People's Militia deputy chief-of-staff Eduard Basurin.

"The situation along the contact line is stable but tense. The tendency of growing number of violations from the Ukrainian side prevails. Over the week, 37 ceasefire violations were recorded."

Over this period, mortars, IFVs, grenade launchers, machine guns, small arms were used to shell the Republic. The most intense fire was opened on Donetsk outskirts, Yasinovataya, Sakhanka, southern areas.

From December 28 to January 3, 26 ceasefire violations were recorded.

The Contact Group endorsed a renewed "Christmas" ceasefire in Donbass in effect from December 29, 2018 1:01 a.m. GMT+3. *ot
