Donetsk, Aug 4 - DAN. DPR provided medical services to 105 patients from Ukraine-controlled territory within the framework of the Donbass people reunification humanitarian programme, the Republic’s acting Health Care Minister Alexander Oprishchenko told a news briefing in Donetsk on Friday.

“As of 4 August 2017, quality medical assistance was provided to 105 patients who live in Ukraine-controlled part of Donetsk Region,” Oprishchenko said.

Obstetric aid has been provided to 34 women, 25 patients have had pacemaker implantation surgery, and 46 people have taken chemotherapy courses since the start of the programme.

On 17 February 2017, DPR and LPR Heads Alexander Zakharchenko and Igor Plotnitskiy launched the Donbass people reunification programme.

The main goal of the programme is to support socially vulnerable groups. The health care segment of the programme envisions medical assistance in seven fields including obstetrics, chemotherapy and prosthetics.*jk
