Donetsk, Apr 24 – DAN. DPR allocated one-time financial aid under the humanitarian program to a veteran from Kiev-controlled territory who participated in the liberation of Warsaw, said DPR Ministry of Labour and Trade.
"The veteran's spouse with the power of attorney applied to the office for social aid and administrative services at Aleksandrovka checkpoint. The veteran fought from December 1943 to May 1945, has been awarded Order of the Red Star, The Medal "For the Victory Over Germany", The Medal "For the Liberation of Warsaw ", has been wounded in battle twice.
The Ministry said the veteran received five thousand hryvnia.
Another veteran also received his one-time payment today; the aid was handed over to his grand-daughter at Mayorsk checkpoint.
Financial aid is provided to veterans from April 5, under DPR Head Alexander Zakharchenko’s decree on providing one-time payments to veterans to commemorate the Victory Day. War disabled veterans and equal-status persons, their families, participants of military actions, concentration camps prisoners, POWs in 1941-1945 are eligible. *ot
