Donetsk, Oct 31 - DAN. One hundred World War II veterans from Kiev-controlled part of Donbass received one-time Victory Day payments in DPR, the Republic's Labour and Social Policy Ministry press service reported on Tuesday.
“One hundred Victory Day payments have been made since the humanitarian programme was launched,” the Ministry said. “They include two payments made today at the Alexandrovka checkpoint in western Donetsk and Mayorsk checkpoint outside Gorlovka.”
In the first case, a niece of a WWII veteran from Artyomovsk district collected the payment by power of attorney, while in the second, a veteran from Krasnoarmeisk received the benefit in person.
Meanwhile, Miner’s Day benefits have already been paid under the aegis of the humanitarian programme to 31 people living in Kiev-held Donbass areas.
DPR began to pay Victory Day benefits to residents of Kiev-controlled part of the region on 15 March 2017.
The sum of payments ranges between 6,000 and 10,000 rubles depending on the recipient's category (WWII veterans, participants in the fighting against Japan, etc). The recipients can request the payment in Ukrainian hryvnas at 2:1 rate.
Miner’s Day benefits are paid to certain groups of mining industry personnel and individuals for their skills and commitment to the profession. Payments range between 3,000 and 8,000 rubles depending on the recipient's category. The two kinds of lumpsum payments can be collected till 20 December, 2017.*jk
