Yelenovka, Jun 25 - DAN. Donetsk People’s Republic authorities have opened the Yelenovka crossing point south of Donetsk for crossing the contact line to the Republic from Kiev-held territory.

Personnel of the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission and the DPR Office at the Joint Centre for Control and Coordination are currently at the scene. All the incoming visitors will go for mandatory two-week observation at DPR hospitals within the framework of COVID-19 lockdown measures. Medical surveillance is free of charge.

Earlier, DPR ombudswoman Darya Morozova said that entry into the DPR was open to the persons cleared by the Republic’s interdepartmental COVID-19 crisis headquarters.

There are four crossing point on the contact line between the DPR and Ukraine-held territory: Gorlovka-Mayorskoye, Yelenovka-Novotroitskoye, Alexandrovka-Maryinka and Oktyabr-Gnutovo. All the crossing points suspended operation in March to the prevent the import of coronavirus infection.

On June 22, the DPR opened the Yelenovka crossing point south of Donetsk. Ukraine followed suit a few hours later opening the counterpart Novotroitskoye crossing point.*jk
