Donetsk, Jun 28 - DAN. DPR Head Alexander Zakharchenko said that the Republican migration service shall hire more staff to reduce the number of people waiting for their DPR passports to be issued.
"The number of people willing to receive DPR passports surpasses our technical ability to issue them. The migration service also lacks staff. There is a solution: we hire additional 80 people. I think it will change the situation," he said during his live talk.
Over 97 thousand applications have been received as of June 22, almost 87 thousand requests have been fulfilled.
"It is the first time out state issues passports and there are a lot of applicants, it is not the usual way when people receive documents upon reaching 16 years of age. We are aware of the problem anf more staff will be helpful. "
DPR began issuing its passports on March 16, 2016. The first 20 DPR residents received IDs from Zakharcheno. The authorities said at the time that priority was given to those who turned 16, 25 and 45 years old and to those who lost Ukrainian passports. Large-scale issuance of DPR passports was announced later, on June 21. *ot
